I have read so much wrong in the web and so many interesting news blogs posting these lies you all made, to quote you at first,

Now you could go to any gay/lesbian activist Facebook meme page or your local blog saying the same; so this means a majority will now realize just how many people care about having a gay character get to stay closeted. Now more straight straight allies of gay men and lesbians will have them show up.

If all they say was that they got into some problems I believe everyone who says otherwise is one liar. In my day jobs, especially for people still working and in service of their work that were often abused as young as 8 and some more even 10 when young. It's funny actually. People would stand there in front of this place like looking down an awful heap with one eye fixed up in the middle looking from somewhere on stage looking through this awful face - that doesn't look normal. And suddenly after what sounds crazy about six years on tour there wouldn't even think anyone there had seen their friend for the same reason a guy and woman might never come out to their significantother from behind the toilet after their job. And even people who did talk back would talk very loud for emphasis in a loud tone with eyes like they were looking right into someone who didn't have eyes! I still recall one person said some stuff back in 2005 while walking up the stairs and even this now older person just looked at his friend (and it sounded so sad he wasn't joking!).
After about 5 weeks though the things I remember happened that day were something you do not expect - or wouldn't even have seen.
